New home for the site and other servies

So I have finally figured out a way to get this site up and running on the server I have at home.

I will be slowly be adding more services as required.

There is a new forum set up so register and check it out at

https://Forum.home.annagesinc.net

After some part replacement for the main server running a majority of my virtual machines it can now reboot itself with out user interaction and also the remote management features are re-enabled for better performance and reliability.

Also set up are pretty comprehensive backups, including daily incremental and weekly full backups for almost immediate recovery should I break something.

Back ups are all handled by Veeam, an amazing enterprise grade solution that intergrates almost seamlessly into the vmware ecosystem with only a few configurations

All backups are stored in 2 locations locally and to 2 external services.

The next few steps will to make all public facing services such as the Web forum and website more secure, tho they are already pretty good. I would still like to keep on top of it to minimise any downtime and or possible breaches. Things like 2fA for all required logins, only the nesscary server ports open (pretty much already set) and to monitor and keep services as up to date as possible.

All SSL (secure Web pages) and web traffic are handled by certbot/ let’s encrypt and Cloudflare with some WAF (Web application firewall) rules to rate limit and reduce some external threats by either secure tunnels or other means. Adding some sort of reCAPTCHA and or other Web challenges will reduce bot traffic.

TLDR most services are all up and running with only some minor visual changes and tweaks required ontop regular maintenance.

I will put up some guides and instructions on how to host services your self at home or on any VPS provider soon.
