Managed to get the Busted Dell server running, all it took was a new (old) Intergrated NIC, somehow I managed to brick the firmware. I still blame Windows update.
Anyways I’ve manages to install a dell specific version of ESXI 6.5 for Dell servers to avoid issues of the raid card compatibility issues. Tho the iDrac (remote management and server control) is still bricked from a failed update, that was Windows update fault.
So it works but in the event of a reboot or power outage I will need to plug in the keyboard to confirm the errors and it will boot, after about 10min tho.
So I’ve migrated most of the vm’s from the hp esxi host and only left a backup dns filter so it reboots quickly in case of an error.

All the server needs is a few ssd’s to replace the old, slow and low capacity sas hard drives. Ill be looking at about 6x 500gb ssd and 2x 2tb hdd and it should be able to handle a bunch more vms for a few more years.
Other than all of that the next server build will be a storage server with approx 50+tb and 10gbe ethernet to store all media, backups and other various crap I have inaddition to the 24tb nas I currently are running.
I am also going to have to get a rack for all the gear I have at some point to help clean up the mess of network cables and power cords
